Abu Dhabi International Boat Show kicks off next week

by | Oct 24, 2018

Usually, the attempt to get a new boat show up and running takes a year or two of good reviews and positive word of mouth before it really gets going. Not only have you got to work to get the customers in, but the industry’s giants are going to have to be persuaded to set up shop too. One example that hasn’t followed this trend is the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, which already has over 250 companies ready for exhibition, making the journey from 25 different nations.

Everything kicks off on the 17th October and will continue through to the 20th, hosted at the National Exhibition Centre. This is the first ever edition of the show that’s been heavily pushed by the city’s sports council chairman, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The success of the show on its inaugural edition is no doubt down to the boating wealth that is possessed in the are, as well as the stunning list of attractions that are on offer. Abu Dhabi is one of the richest areas in the entire world, and the city has used this reputation to showcase the resources they have access to.

Besides the appearance of boating giants like Princess Yachts and SCANIA, there are exciting activities to take part in such as Jetpack and Hoverboard experiences, the jet ski freestyle demonstration, and the thrilling Formula1 Powerboat experience.

Although the show boasts impressive international presence, the heartwarming fact is that it’s highly based around supporting the local community – nearly half of all businesses on show are locally-based companies looking for growth and exposure.

Many of the participating businesses have suggested they’ll be releasing brand new products whilst at the show, which is another big reason why they’ve managed to pull in an anticipated 20,000 visitors.

Whilst business growth is the main focus, Sheikh Nahyan also has the vision of projecting Abu Dhabi as a premium boating region for all keen mariners worldwide. Abu Dhabi has 200 small islands and more than 400 kilometers of coast to cruise up and down.

The show is predicted to be one of the worlds most successful for years to come – you can keep up with all the latest news on the ADIBS official website.
